Foundation for TJO Animals

The Foundation for TJO Animals is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to the health and welfare of the animals at the TJO Animal Control and Adoption Center. When animals need a little extra TLC, the Foundation pays for medical treatments and rehabilitation that would otherwise not be available.

The Foundation holds fundraising events such as The Jack Rome Memorial Walk/Run in May. Pets Rock! in June, Ride Like an Animal Motorcycle Run in September and the Pawzaar Craft fair in November, as well as many smaller events throughout the year. To see what Foundation and community events are coming up, and for all fundraising questions, please visit www.tjofoundation.org

The Foundation for TJO Animals is supported by many donations, large and small, from schools, civic groups, individuals, and businesses throughout the Pioneer Valley, as well as grants from national foundations. But most of our funding comes from fundraising, special events, donor appeals, and generous individuals in the community who want a better life for our most needy animals.

Veterinary Care
The Foundation provides funding for two days per week of veterinary care at the shelter, helping to save animals that might not have had a chance of survival in previous years. Animals arrive at TJO everyday needing veterinary care and this ensures that there is a veterinarian at TJO 40 hours per week to help them in their time of need.

Veterinary Technician
The Foundation provides funding for three days per week for a veterinary technician to assist in the needs of shelter care, both medical and dental, to make them healthy, happy, adoptable pets.

Additional Vet Care
The Foundation provides funding for 32 hours for a second veterinary technician.

Medical Equipment
The Foundation provides funding for medical equipment and supplies, lab/tests, surgeries/medical procedures, animal enrichment supplies, transport of animals for care, and many more ways that help to save animals' lives, improve their chances for adoption and make the families who adopt them the happiest in the world!
